How do you work with your clients?
I work at two levels with my clients, teams, and organizations: Tactically and Strategically. Tactically to focus on the immediate issues and development. Strategically to foster longer term more sustainable development and change. A quick adjustment to apply the new behaviour in this situation, a more fundamental shift to apply the new behaviour across other and future situations.
How is coaching delivered?

Individual coaching is delivered live, one-to-one, phone or any other online technology (Zoom, Teams, Skype…).

My personal preference for individuals is via phone. Your world is busy, and you can always grab a quiet space wherever you are for a conversation. It keeps us connected and timely. I like to work with my clients when and where they need it and when they don’t need it, we are done.

A frequent preference for teams and organizations is face to face and offsite. Offsite allows us to immerse the participants into a wisely designed experience. Distractions from the office are minimized and the evening and social sessions are programmed to enhance the experience and networking opportunities.

Live online technologies, like Zoom or Teams are being utilized more frequently. The design includes interactions, break outs and reflection time which are vital parts to any learning and development.

Do I have to sign up for a program?
No need, each individual agreement or company proposal often defines duration and length of engagement for the use of budgeting and planning. I work call to call / session to session, as required. We are done when you are done, not just when the budget runs out.
What is the typical length of a coaching engagement?

A typical individual coaching engagement lasts nine to twelve months. In that time, we might meet for one hour every week or every two weeks. The frequency of conversation is adjusted based on the urgency, area of focus and client need. Typically, we will meet much more frequently at the start of the engagement and taper off to monthly as the new skills and behaviours are being tested and practiced.

A typical team or organizational experience builds from one-to-one sessions with the leader, then their immediate team and out into the organization. As a rule of thumb, a team or group experience wears off in 3 months. A lot of our focus is what happens after the big event, so we engineer follow-on experiences that maintain the momentum and the desired changes sustainable over time.

How do I know you are the right coach for me?

Brilliant question. The connection between the coach and client is paramount. That’s why we will first meet to explore your needs before we get into how long, cost or outcomes. You will know I am your coach when you feel you can be open and willing to express your ideas and opinions freely.

I will know you are the right client for me when I notice our conversation enlivens and empowers you to act or behave differently. When I feel our conversation will be productive and give you value, it’s a go.

Do you do assessments with your clients?

Yes, and only as required to increase your self awareness or insight. Since I think, work and coach around behaviours I do tend to prefer the Thomas International DISC assessment. This provides concrete feedback on behaviours in a workplace or lifeplace. I use MBTI as well, and I find MBTI is great at articulating your natural go to characteristics and DISC helps you see how you deploy that potential.

Qualified in Thomas International (DISC) Personal Profile©, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, Personal Coaching Styles Inventory©, True Colors® Legacy Leadership Competency Inventory® and Hogan Assessment Systems.
